Die Spieleschmiede Electronic Arts legte nun ihre Quartalszahlen offen und nannte kurzerhand auch ein paar Details bezüglich der Battlefield-Serie. So soll nun Battlefield Hardline im kommenden Jahr und zwar am 19. März 2015 erscheinen. Den Grund für diese Verschiebung, nannte Andrew Wilsons von EA wie folgt:
The cops and criminals fantasy – this is kind of the foundation for the game – resonated very, very strongly not just with existing fans, but with new players to the Battlefield franchise. But the feedback was also universal that we should go deeper with that fantasy and really deliver against that to a greater degree. What we’ve done is given the development team that time to go back in and really look at how to truly deliver on that cops and criminals kind of gameplay as it exists in a Battlefield world.
Auch zum offiziellen Nachfolger von Battlefield 4 gab man an, dass der neuste Teil Battlefield 5, voraussichtlich erst 2016 erscheinen wird. Auch ein anderer Titel namens Star Wars: Battlefront wurde auf das Weihnachtsgeschäft 2015 datiert.
